What to do when angry

What to do when angry
By Yundan Trinley Dorje Rinpoche

What should you do when you're angry?
1. First, practice "reverse abdominal breathing." Reverse abdominal breathing involves inhaling through the nose and exhaling through the mouth. Breathe deeply until you reach the bottom of your abdomen. Repeat five times. Reverse abdominal breathing can treat the nine meridians in the center of the body. When a person is angry, an ice-like blockage forms in the area between the heart chakra and the throat chakra. Although invisible to the naked eye, a person can feel a resistance. Therefore, people often say, "I'm so angry!"
2. Tell yourself not to get angry, and not to commit slow suicide.
3. Because anger causes the heart to beat rapidly, the third key point is to press the Neiguan acupoint firmly. The Neiguan acupoint is located at the wrist, measured from the outer edge of the palm, using the distance between the index and middle fingers.
Neiguan (PC6) is a specific acupoint for opening the heart, chest, and lungs. The chest cavity includes internal organs such as the heart, chest, lungs, and stomach. When pressing Neiguan, pain indicates that the Heart Meridian is not fully unobstructed and lacks energy. It also indicates that there is residual waste from past life accumulating in the heart, lungs, stomach, and other internal organs within the chest cavity.
After locating the Neiguan acupoint, place your left palm facing up and your right thumb on the Neiguan acupoint on your left hand. Twist the acupoint back and forth 25 times, as if you were rolling a bean. That is, roll clockwise with your left hand and counterclockwise with your right hand. The rolling motion should be very slow, not fast.
4. If the left hand hurts, it indicates pain on the left side; if the right hand hurts, it indicates pain on the right side. This also suggests that there is lingering resentment or depression on one or both sides of the body.
5. Pressing the Neiguan acupoint can prevent heart disease, myocardial infarction, stroke, and premature angina.
6. Pressing the Neiguan acupoint in conjunction with pressing the Hegu acupoint will yield better results.
7. The Hegu acupoint is located within the tiger's eye point at the base of the thumb and index finger. Press 25 times to the left and 25 times to the right, with your thumb pointing towards the tip of your index finger. For the left hand, press 25 times clockwise with your thumb; for the right hand, press 25 times counter-clockwise with your left thumb.
8. Some people may not be angry, but they sigh easily, which indicates that their heart is not receiving enough blood or energy, resulting in insufficient oxygen and blood supply to the heart.
9. Massaging the Hegu acupoint can effectively regulate arrhythmia, myocardial ischemia, hypoxia, and other conditions, yielding tangible results.
